Review: The Guardians - John Grisham

I have been in a bit of a reading slump after reading a bad book, I sometimes find it hard to start a new book for fear of disappointment. So Mr Grisham to the rescue, he is my go to author and very rarely disappoints me. The Guardians, I am pleased to say did not disappoint me. I never, ever include spoilers in my reviews because I dislike them so much.

I first discovered John Grisham and a Time to Kill in 1990, when I was 19, some 30 years ago....wow. From the beginning of this novel, I was hooked, his characters, as always are relatable and you are taken on a journey through the ins and outs of this case. You are backing the innocent and getting annoyed with the audacity of the bad guys and it really makes you wonder how many people are wrongly accused. Scary thought.

Should Mr Grisham read this, which I know is very unlikely, these are characters I would definitely like to read about again and I think this would make a great TV series too. Get writing !

I definitely recommend this and many of his others too. The subject matter in this novel is very interesting and when you have finished reading it, do look up The Centurion Ministries (I am unable to find an equivalent in the UK), although I am sure there is one, do let me know if you know of one and I will add the link.

I love it when a novel I read leads me to look up about something else and in this case it was about innocence projects, organisations that fight for innocent people in prison. (this is not a spoiler).

Happy reading.
